More than a sports documentary, Marathons Across America is an inspiring journey of human perseverance, cultural exploration, and self-discovery.

Over the course of 125 marathons, Tomasz encounters a diverse cross-section of America—from athletes and military veterans to small-town business owners, immigrants, and Native American elders. Their stories paint a powerful portrait of a country shaped by resilience and ambition.

Through grueling pain, relentless recovery, and sheer willpower, Tomasz’s journey showcases the extreme limits of the human body and mind—blisters, torn muscles, and exhaustion become his daily reality. In St. Louis, a joint injection keeps him running. Each day, he battles brutal weather, mental fatigue, and the daunting vastness of the American landscape—but his encounters with inspiring people fuel his determination to push forward.

This is not just Tomasz’s story—it’s America’s.

Synopsis

Polish ultramarathoner Tomasz Sobania—often called the "Polish Forrest Gump"—sets out on an unprecedented cross-country run, tackling a marathon a day for over five months. His route takes him from New York’s Central Park, through Washington, D.C., Chicago, and along historic Route 66, before reaching his final destination: San Diego, California.

Armed with nothing but his grit, a support camper, and a physical therapist, Tomasz experiences America in the most intimate way possible—on foot, one step at a time.

Along the way, he connects with people from all walks of life—shopkeepers, athletes, military veterans, Native American leaders, dreamers, and fighters—uncovering their stories of endurance, hardship, and hope. These raw, unscripted conversations offer a rare and deeply personal look at America today.

This is not just about running—it’s about the strength of the human spirit.
